ARRIVAL
We arrived at The Brinton Environmental Center located 23.8 miles north of Key West on the first day.  See a satellite photo of the island here.

ISLAND
See a photo here.
This is Big Munson Island, it is about 100 acres in size.  The island is located 5.5 miles over open water from The Brinton Environmental Center.

FOOD
Our food, both at the Sea Base and on the Island was all fresh or frozen such as hamburgers, steak, spaghetti, fish for dinner, sandwiches for lunch, and eggs, cereal, and pancakes for breakfast. There is NO dehydrated food because water is an absolute premium.

FISHING
Although they don't guarantee it, most crews are able to add some fresh fish or possibly lobster (in season) to their menus during their stay on Big Munson Island.  They will supply us with heavy tackle for and some light weight rods and reels. They suggest that we bring a few medium weight ?fresh? water rigs.

DEPARTING
On the last night we will go to the Brinton Center for our  closing ceremony, patch presentation, and Closing Seafood Luau. Hawaiian style shirt is optional.
